GEI works on behalf of hotel owners to manage their investment. This service allows owners to invest in hotel real estate without the responsibility of managing the property or even overseeing the operator on a daily or even monthly basis. The primary services GEI provides as an asset manager include:
- Securing of equity and/or debt
- Concept and construction oversight
- Oversight of the normal operations of a hotel by a hotel management company, including:
- A review of budgets and operating plans
- Hiring of key staff
- Negotiation of subleases within the hotel
- Generally reviewing all hotel operations and advising the hotel manager on matters which the asset manager believes could improve the success of the hotel.
- Oversight and management of strategic initiatives and development or renovation projects
- Reporting to hotel owners on a regular basis on hotel performance
